What We Do

    Community Based Day Services

The Day Program at Ability Beyond Disability exposes individuals to varying community experiences. We provide programs, experiences, and activities that are stimulating and value-based and encourage good physical and cognitive health. The programs developed by staff are those that are of interest to participants and keeps them involved in the community.

Participants must be 18 and up. We work with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Brain Injury, Neurological Disorders, and intellectual disabilities.

    How Does the Program Work?

We are dedicated to meeting each individual’s needs and wants, whether they are looking to eventually find a job or to learn new skills. All organized activities provide incidental learning opportunities and emphasis is placed on good physical and cognitive health. The type of activities and programs offered depends upon one’s interests, skills, and needs.

    Recreation Activities

    • Focuses on engaging individuals in the community and emphasize positive social interaction

      Volunteer Activities

    • Ability Beyond Disability helps individuals find opportunities to volunteer in the community at soup kitchens, shelters, youth organizations, and other social service organizations.

Individual Sensory and Personal Care Supports

    • For those who cannot be out in the community for an entire day, we provide the opportunity to strengthen cognitive, visual, sensory and social stimulation skills through computer lessons, news writing, games, exercise, arts and crafts, cooking, listening activities and hands on manipulation. The staff work in collaboration with clinical therapists to ensure a continuum of care and promote maximum abilities.
