Ability Beyond Disability awarded $15,000 from the Fairfield County Community FoundationThe Fairfield County Community Foundation is promoting the health and wellness of people with disabilities in Fairfield County. The Foundation recently supported Ability Beyond Disability with $15,000 from a Donor Advised Fund for its Health & Wellness Services. As a nonprofit organization that has been serving Fairfield County for more than 55 years, Ability Beyond Disability strives to provide the highest possible quality of services to individuals with differing abilities so that they can each live as independently as possible in the community. The provision of individualized Health & Wellness Services plays an important part in the pursuit of that independence. “We are so grateful for the support of the Fairfield County Community Foundation,” stated Thomas H. Fanning, President/CEO of Ability Beyond Disability. “Their support will help offset the unreimbursed, but necessary costs associated in providing health and wellness services that are customized to each person’s unique needs.” The funds received from the Fairfield County Community Foundation Donor Advised Fund will be used to help individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries secure access to personalized services that meet each individual’s unique medical, health and wellness needs through Ability Beyond Disability’s Health & Wellness Services Program.
The Fairfield County Community Foundation promotes the growth of community and regional philanthropy to improve the quality of life throughout Fairfield County. Individuals, families, corporations and organizations can establish their own charitable funds or contribute to existing funds focused on specific areas of need or communities in Fairfield County. The Foundation also provides philanthropic advisory services, and develops and leads initiatives to tackle critical community issues.
